i wrote a book . . .

On October 30, 2015, I self-published my first (and currently, only) novel. It is called To Smile More. I wrote the thing over the course of five months, under the direction of Dr. Susan Finch, Assistant Professor of English at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. I was afforded this opportunity to fulfill a requirement of the Honors College at Belmont and was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and the Arts in December of that year.
This coming-of-age story tells about a boy named Freddy, who runs away from an abusive home and finds himself in the most peculiar of situations, from falling in love with an older woman, to driving across the country with a bevy of nearly-blind British barristers. Through these fantastical accounts, I aim to comment on the lack of time children are offered to transition from the innocence of youth and into our sexually-saturated society.
